New ambition for renewables

Launched in December last year, Commissioner Thierry Breton in charge of the EU Internal Market said the Solar PV Industry Alliance wants to create "a value chain that preserves Europe's strategic interests, reduces our dependence, and organises the transition to a green and digital economy."
As of February, the voice of social and affordable housing providers will be heard during the meetings of this new initiative as Housing Europe's application for membership has been successful.
The Alliance will be aiming at mobilising public and private finance for European solar PV manufacturing projects to scale up capacity, making the best use of all existing and new European financing instruments. It also promises to ensure sustainable level playing field and stimulate demand for competitive, efficient, and sustainable PV products and systems.
