The Energiesprong model and the long-term renovation strategies in the EU
Final conference of the Transition Zero project
Brussels, 29 November 2018Save the dateWhen: 10:45am 29 November 2018 | Where: House of the Dutch Provinces (4th floor) - Rue de Trèves 59, 1040 Brussels (Metro: Maalbeek)
For around 3 years, the Transition Zero project has supported the scaling up of the Energiesprong (‘Energy leap’) model originated in the Netherlands. This model is a high-value construction and investment model for creating energy-neutral homes and regenerating neighbourhoods through a whole house ‘envelope’ retro-fitting package. Based on the use of prefabricated panels for renovation, the use of renewable energy and a guarantee of net zero for consumers, the Energiesprong approach is now applied in the UK and France.
As the H2020 project Transition Zero comes to an end in December 2018, it is time to reflect on what has been done and what are the next steps to make it an even more successful approach to a fair energy transition in the EU. More generally it will be a unique occasion to discuss innovative approaches to mass-scale renovation and decarbonisation of the building stock, in the light of the article 2 of the EPBD.
