The European Pillar of Social Rights Social housing and the fight against homelessness: discussion on the future EU action plan
Online event by Housing Europe & FEANTSA | 14:30 - 15:30 CET
10 December 2020Save the dateHow are you planning to mark #HumanRightsDay next Thursday? On 10th December, Housing Europe and FEANTSA plan on bringing together some of the key actors in housing policies and the fight against homelessness to discuss what should be considered to adequately implement Principle 19 of the European Pillar of Social Rights.
After a period of public consultation, the European Commission will present in early 2021 an action plan to implement the European Pillar of Social Rights adopted in 2017. The work programme for the next year announces that “the European Pillar of Social Rights will be the compass of Europe’s recovery and our best tool to ensuring no one is left behind”.
Join us to discuss the following key questions.
How can the Pillar be a true guiding principle of EU policies, despite the absence of legal competence on many of the areas it covers, including housing?
How can the EU recovery strategy support national and local efforts to put in place adequate measures and funding?
