The case of 'Qlinker'
The Dutch digital housing association Qlinker aims to turn traditional housing associations’ procedures upside down in order to serve their tenants in the most customer friendly way possible. In order to achieve this, the Qlinker team started from scratch: no existing organization, no existing IT infrastructure and no legacy systems but instead the tenant as their starting point.
VVH's social housing companies organise solidarity campaigns to support tenants
The Association of Flemish Housing Companies (VVH) launched an appeal to social housing companies (SHMs) in Flanders. VVH collected the actions taken to support social tenants and the responses were various. VVH shared these among their members in order to exchange and connect. "Social housing is about so much more than just a cheap rental price, but also about health, education, social fabric, etc.," says Björn Mallants, director of VVH. "In these circumstances, we prove that more than ever."

We’re back with yet another episode of our series around the housing aspect of the Coronavirus Crisis, in which we are addressing a number of questions that are probably in your mind as well, with one special guest each time. Today, we’re making the link with the European Commission flagship initiative, the EU Green Deal and the so called ‘Renovation Wave’ that is envisaged to improve the condition of Europe’s building stock. Ciaran Cuffe is an Irish Member of the European Parliament with the Greens and is currently busy being the Rapporteur of the much-expect report “Maximising the energy efficiency potential of the EU building stock”. This is supposed to set out the view of the Parliament on most aspects of energy efficiency in buildings, while also making concrete suggestions for the content of the Renovation Wave.
